Steamer Trunk

Description

This is a steamer trunk that I believe was made between 1930-1945. It was probably manufactured as a footlocker for the US Army as part of a large contract. It is 3/4 inch plywood covered with thin metal. It has two metal closures and lock made by the A&L Mfg. Company. (Everlasting Model)

Army trunks had multiple markings, stamps and labels. This one looks to be a regular post-war version. Worth about $10.

This one is not an Military issue footlocker, It's a commerical piece for the retail market. Values for them vary depending on local demand, but they often sell at auction for $45.00 or less.
