Instrument is in original wood storage box.All knobs on instrument turn freely,scoping is not cloudy and crosshairs are intact.All gauging numbers are clearly readable.Level is not cloudy and flows freely. Original instructions are in box,as well as original plum-bob. Also have the original tripod. Wood storage box is in good condition,small piece of top layer panaling missing from top back corner,right. Leather strap and buckle in good strength condition,some age wearing. Locking hooks in good condition
