Description

I found this unique looking chair at a garage sale, it is in very good shape, the seat cushion material is also in very good shape, and tacked not stapled down, it is put together tongue and groove and the back of the chair appears to be hand carved.  I was wondering if anyone knew what type of chair this was, and if it is possible to locate more of them.

I was wondering if you found any information regarding this chair b/c I too have one very similar and have no idea as to who made it or what design it is, or the value. Mine is the exact same except the back is covered in velvet as well as the seat (same color as yours too). I found this chair to be truly unique however I have had no luck on finding any information on it!

It's what's called a "Hall Chair", it's based on Victorian examples that were found in the front hall of large homes. They were used by staff or messengers. Examples like this one tend to be 1960's-70's decorator pieces and sell for under $100.00
