Description
Hi
I'm interested in the history and value of this tea set. It appears to be two sets, the teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl are marked " bone china Hammersley & Co made in England" the cups, saucers and plates are marked, " hammersley & Co london, stoke on trent England, port line souvenir" I believe the pattern is "corn flower".
Thanks
Re: tea set
I can't tell you much about your teaset(s), but I can tell you about the manufacturer, HAMMERSLEY & CO : Longton (a borough of Stoke-On-Trent) Staffordshire, England, From 1887 to 1932, produced fine bone china, formerly Harvey Adams.
I hope this helps you get closer to finding out more about your teaset. It is a really lovely pattern.
Re: tea set
Thankyou it is a lovely pattern, from the information I have so far I believe the tea sets were sold as teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl and 2 cups, saucers and plates as souvenirs. My set must be a combination as some pieces are marked in green and some are in black, but they are exactly the same "souvenir " mark.
There is some damage to the teapot, so it is only ornamental, but the rest of the tea set is fine.
I might be interested in selling it as I am downsizing my collection.
