Teacher or Partner's Desk

Description

I bought this from an antique mall and they said it was a 1920's teacher's desk. It was in rough shape when I bought it and has since been stripped and stained. It is dovetailed. There is a locking mechanism on one side but it is broken. I have the curved piece that connects the two towers but it is not shown in the picture.  I am trying to figure out this desk's value and history.
