Description
teapot is really tarnished or could be just this color as this has been the way I have remembered this when my mother had it. I do not know if my mother purchased this or it was given to her from another family member Teapot has a hinged lid that has a decorative piece on top that looks like leaves on a vine. this piece turn in a circular pattern to expose a hole probably used to let out steam. On the bottom of the teapot has RR in a shield with R. Richardson Cornwall Works Sheffield A #4 is under the RR & shield I'm looking for a value not interested in selling at this point. I may want to sell in near future but first trying to determine value.
Re: Teapot either silverplate, silver or pewter
I am certainly not a silver expert, but since no one has commented on this yet, I thought I would throw in my 2 cents. From the pictures I would guess silver plate (does not look quite right for pewter) - Just a guess. It also looks to be similar to some earlier teapot designs - maybe early 1900's? My best suggestion is to get on Google and type in the maker name and try some different other key words added to that such as 'mark' or 'silver+plate' or 'RR'. Something is likely to come up that will at least provide some information on your teapot - good luck!
