Description Go these dining chairs, look a lot like Thonet No 91, but there is no inscription that i can find. Is there anything else i can look for to identify a manufacturer? How would i know if they were the real thing?

These appear to be Thonet 91s from around the late 1800's. To verify that they are in fact originals you should be able to see a makers branded mark inscribed "Thonet Hermanos, Barcelona, 40 Pelayo." I've seen a similar pair of chairs sell at auction for around $2,500 to $3,500. For a set of four I wouldn't be surprised to sell original Thonet 91s go for double that - $5,000-$7,000 for ones in perfect condition with verified provenance.

Hi, having looked and looked. My sense is that these are not Thonet. Thonet no91 seem to have laminated thin rectangular legs rather than the round of these and the support strut on the leg seems a little more delicate. What do you think?

I think you are correct - here's a good example of a single Thonet 91 - https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/seating/chairs/thonet-wood-rattan-chair-number-91-august-thonet-circa-1920/id-f_20671832/ As you noted, if you look at the legs they curve in from the top to about 3/4 of the way down the leg of the chair and then jut out on the last 1/4 from the bottom. These are probably quality reproductions. Let's see if we can get one of the professional appraisers from the site to have a look.

Thonet chairs are one of the most copied and reproduced, these in my opinion are not originals. Here is a link to an original. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/77983676_august-thonet-chair-91-1890 The reproductions tend to sell for under $75.00 each at auction.
