http://www.prym-fashion.ro/en/about.asp ["Prym" ] Prym is Germany's oldest family-owned company and has been known for almost 400 years for metal products of the highest quality, ranging from sewing needles to electro-mechanical components. Today, the company employs more than 4,000 people all around the world but still has its headquarters in the Rhineland town of Stolberg. Echt 2 Prym means "Really 2" (Prym being the company.) 1/11 means 11 threads per inch, the actual length of each thread, peak to peak. So, one'd use a 2 inch thread count measurer to measure it. At this website, there is one LIKE your's for sale for $140 http://www.rubylane.com/item/194916-41221002/Brass-Germany-Needlework-Tool-Thread This is a German one like your's, for sale for $125. http://www.rubylane.com/item/352030-GM-001793/Folding-Brass-Thread-Counter-Loupe Used for quality control in the textile and printing industries and by tailors and seamstresses and made to the highest German standards. Three panels of brass were riveted together and spring-loaded to open to a precise dimension that allows the 5x lens to view the cutout in the base piece as a 1" square. *Hope this helps :)
