I recently purchased two beautiful tables at auction. I need help in identifying the time period and styling. Even the antique dealer who sold them said she had not seen these before.
They are in good condition with a few nicks and marks from age. The unique qualities are that the 3 drawers are recessed gradually, there are brass ornate trims that look like they might be Egyptian, Greek or Italian (?) but unsure (a womans head bust centered by the drawers and a pair of feet on the pedestal on each side), and, the bottom panel between the drawers and the pedestal is mirrored. The bottom shelf has ornate brass affixed. All the brass trim is nailed -- no screws. The inside of the drawers look to be original and hand stained, somewhat roughly. To me the piece looks of the art nouveau era, but I am somewhat new at this and do not know, nor could I find anything even remotely similar in all of my sources.
I would appreciate any information and value of these tables. I have not decided whether to keep or re-sell them yet.
