Re: Unknown Glassware (tea set)
Hello,
What a lucky find at the garage sale! I would LOVE to own this gorgeous set! I believe what you have here is part of a set, if not the whole set of a Murano Ruby Red with gold trim and flowers tea set. I've tried researching the M.A. at the bottom and this is probably the maker's mark. Murano glass has a distinctive bottom called a pontil mark or scar where the glass blower snapped off of the metal rod. There are many fakes out there. Here is a link that will help you tell whether yours is an original Murano, or one of the mass produced. http://www.ebay.com/gds/Murano-Art-Glass-how-do-I-tell-if-it-is-Fake-/10000000021158037/g.html
Let us know what price you put on your set! Here's a 16 piece set that is up for sale on Ebay now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-MURANO-Glass-16-piece-Ruby-Red-W-Gold-Trim-Tea-Set-Monogramed-R-B-A-On-P-/201605373883?hash=item2ef09ddfbb:g:BbQAAOSwLnBXWaHI
