US Canteen

By babs777, 2 June, 2022
Description

This canteen I believe is from 1848 US Mexican war or pre Civil War.  There is damage on the neck, no strap or cork.  Is rusty but no holes in the body other than the neck.  The US is embossed on both sides and is a drum canteen not the tapered rounded ones.

Hello, I have been…

Hello, I have been collecting Mexican War era items for many years, and the canteen is really terrific. I think it would sell for $800 to $1,000 depending on condition, venue, etc. I work with a local museum and would like to buy this so we can work it into a display. Please contact me, I would like to discuss buying it, if it's not already sold. Clay Perkins cell 682-999-1797
