Re: vase
Stangl is a wonderful, whimsical, hand-painted ceramic line which flourished 1948-1978 approximately. Recently I had to choose bewteen some mediocre, recent Limoges dinnerware, and a dinner set of Lyric by Stangl-- and guess which one came home with me? Yes, the Lyric by Stangl!
They are a pleasure to hold and to look at. I guess a lot of people agree, today I priced (but did not buy) a book on collecting Stangl wares. The book cost $143!
Fine handcrafted American products are going extinct. I'm going to predict things like Stangl ware will be only more appreciated as time goes by, for their American whimsy, optimism, and quality.
Re: vase
Stangl vases still have very modest values, while they were not mass produced compared to some lines of pottery, they were made in very large numbers. Most vases by this company sell for less than $50.00 at auction
