Vassar Female College silver spoon

Description

This spoon was included in an assortment of other silverware I purchased at an estate sale.  It is a scalloped sugar spoon with Vassar Female College imprinted on the handle and silversmith marks on the back that are almost illegible.  It does appear the silversmith marks include a 7, a circled star and a 3.  My understanding is that these spoons were recalled and destroyed in 1867 when Vassar dropped the word "female" from it's name.
