Very Old half moon shaped wooden box with eagle carved on front. Chiseled cups inside

I am very interested to know what this piece is. It is very old. It is a half moon shape when closed.When open it has an oval shape,it also has when opened 14 half cup chiseled bowls. When closed these bowls line up to make seven. There are carved wings around the bowls. The outside of the box has a beautiful hand carved eagle or falcon on the lid.It has two hinges on the back and a clasp on the front. It is very heavy about 17 pound and measures 19x 12. I truly would be very thankful for ant information on this piece as I have searched for months. Its age...or origin. Thank you so much for looking.
