Very old, intricate and beautiful oriental rug - stamp says "Made In China" "Nichols" with a separate tag that I think reads ELLIOTT 38916

By rrpatrick1, 2 May, 2014
Description

This is a very intricate and ornate oriental rug that measures 96" wide x 134" long. The rug is very large and heavy. The craftsmanship and high quality work that went into the making of this rug is very evident. I have never seen a rug of this quality with this level of detail available For sale in any store..

My great grandparents were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel the world and they found this rug during their travels. They both lived into their 90's and then the rug was passed down  to my grandparents who had it in their house for many years. My sweet grandmother passed it down to me about 6 years ago.

I don't have much more detail or info about the rug and would love to, not only learn the value of it, but also any history available about it. I appreciate your help very much!

Also, the rug is In very good condition considering its age and many moves.

Thank you again,

Robin Patrick
