This is an immaculate 'basket' i have never seen anything like it before, despite numerous computer and book searches. a marvelous, unique piece.

Bought at an estate sale; was told by elderly woman that it belonged to her grandmother. she thought that it was either a picnic basket, though more likely a basket to keep sewing supplies in.
