Vintage 1920's Lace Dress

By nahill2006, 26 February, 2012
Description

1920's flapper style dress; ivory lace with darker ivory underlay.  The underlay shell has delicate decorative stitching.  Side snaps, snaps from underlay straps to lace at sleeves.  Gathered sash on right side at waist.  pear brooch-like  decor at waist on left side. My grandmother wore when she got married.  She was 4'11".  She married around 1920-1923.  There are no tags inside.  Maybe was handmade?  One tear in lace on sleeve (see picture); few small rust-colored discoloration spots on dress (see sleeve picture for example).  These were not found until a very closeup inspection.  There are a few of these on other parts of dress as well (Very minimal).  Minimal stain underarms (see picture).  I haven't tried to clean this dress becuase I'm not sure the best way.
