History
It's of unknown provenance; like a lot of family bric-a-brac, it was just 'always there.' I've searched the Net, but only found one pitcher/vase similar in shape. However, I was watching "Rebel Without a Cause" the other day, and spied another pitcher/vase similar in shape so that tends to support my estimate of its age.
