My comment comes a bit (okay a lot) late but interested in knowing what happened to this set. Seems to me a Barbie from late 1950's would have more wear. The dress and had were made by other than Mattel. The bathing suit looks authentic. I can't see toe and finger nails. Using as a model for creating or making doll clothes should show some wear. However, it does appear to have darker face than body (that's a good sign) There are reproductions out now.Does she have some green around the earring hole? Stand looks real, box looks aged but that can happen in a month in a greasy kitchen. I can't get over the hair being so perfect. The stained cellophane on the booklet looks real and aged as does the box I admit. I have hundreds of Barbie catalogs and description books from beginning to end up to this year. If you would like more detailed info please contact me and I'll be happy to research her for free. I'll tell you this much, if it's a fake it's a darn good job. The hair really looks replugged but I'm not sure. In any case, I know I can't afford her fake or real. I may come back to this one because I collect, adore and have a bedroom dedicated to MIB Barbie dolls. It would actually be fun to look her up.

Hi! I have about 8 dolls similar to the one you made some comments. It´s a little strange that some are Kents and they are in good conditions but the barbie dolls, do have a green spot , why that happens?...can it be fixed?...if this dolls are authentic  what could be their price?...greetings. e mail: jesuaj@yahoo.com.mx

Its the earrings that cause the green....very very hard to come close to getting out.  Devalues the dolls terribly.  Get the earrings out asap because the green will keep spreading.
