Vintage German Little Girl Ballerina Blue Glaze on White Porcelain/Ceramic Figural Figurine

By judygirl, 21 May, 2010
Description

Glazed Blue on white with gold gilt, this little girl looks like she's getting ready for her ballet class. Sitting on her cosmetic table stool, she's donned her ballerina tutu and shoes. While she's unmarked, she's been in our family for years. I understood to be from a return trip to Germany my mother made when I was a child, 1960s. Since I was never a ballerina, we are ready to part with this little girl - her face looks so charming and she's in great condition. Her fingers are all in tact - no grazing and her paint is still vibrant. Measures 4 3/4" high, by 3" wide and weighs 5 ounces.

Re: Vintage German Little Girl Ballerina Blue Glaze on White ...

During that time period it could have been made in a number of places, but being unmarked my estimate is she was made in Japan, likely originally had a a paper or foil label which was removed after sale. Values are quite modest for these pieces, in many cases under $20.00
