Description

I'm having trouble with anyone responding to any of my classifieds, and then I end up after a month or so, deleting the ad and redoing it.

Is this in the wrong catagory? Any help is greatly appreciated!

ON TO ITEM INFO:

I was given this by an elderly woman who had been collecting (and had tons of) antiques for most of her adult life.

I took the fabric picture out of the frame and found 3 different areas of markings.

1) Says "Parasol girl"

2) Copyright 1803? Or 1808? I cannot make out the year.... It looks more like 1803 the more I look but I don't know...

then goes on to say "by CAMPBELL METZGER AND JACOBSON"

3) I took the best picture I had of this last "marking" on the back. I have no idea what it says, cannot read it.

This item is beautiful, and in what I thought was excellent shape until I saw the back (see pic) and it looks stained from something. The stain does not show on the front at all, I wonder how it even got in there.

Thank you so much, any information is greatly appreciated!

Medium some fabric, not sure. For some reason when I was google searching for the names on the back, the word "lithograph" came up. Not sure what that is, or if it's even related.

Hi,

You probably already know that Campbell, Metzger, and Jacobson were commercial printers from the late 19th and early 20th Century that did a variety of posters, prints and lithographs for decor and advertising purposes.

I am having problems with the link feature on this site, so I hope this link works. A similar question with additional info as well as a worth estimate can be found here:

If it doesn't work, just google Campbell Metger Jacobson and it should come up at the top (JustAnswer) site.
