I recently inherited a vintage Mexican Chess set from an Uncle whom recently passed away.
The king stands at 6 1\2 inches. the base stands at 5 1\2 inches. I believe it portrays one of Mexican wars . The sides have a 3 dimensional look depicting a scene of struggle. A head of a horse protrudes at each corner of the base. There are two drawers that can be pulled from the sides that house the figurines. I submitted some Photos which will help greatly.
It appears that each of the two kings at one time lost their heads and were glued back on as you can see from the photos. Other than that, the chess set is in excellent shape. Not positive, but based on similar searches, the figurines are carved from a stone like material called " malachite". the board measures at 19x19x5 1\2 inches.
Other chess sets similar to this had an Aztec design to them. Prices I found was anywhere between $200 to $600 dollars.

This set is not an antique, very few like this predate the 1970's and similar sets are still in production. A lot of them were sold through companies such as the Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint, who pumped out tons of "Limited Edition" pieces every year for the collectibles market. We see set like this sell at auction anywhere from $50.00- $200.00.

Thanks for the information, at least I know more or less its worth.
I have found however, that there are no manufacturing markings or logos of any sorts on this set.
literally nothing indicating origin.
Is that typical for Production sets?

Most of them had paper or foil labels which were removed after they were purchased or have simply fallen off in the last 20 years. A lot of them were made under contract and could have any number of different Import/Export company names on them.
