Vintage Mr. Big Mouth Carnival Amusement Park Trash Can

Description

Mr. Big Mouth is a fabulous two-part vintage piece consisting of a hand painted wood barrel and a detachable man's head and shoulders. The barrel reads "Mr. Big Mouth" "Swallows Everything" "Paper, Steel, Glass". The head is made of fiberglass and is lightly stuccoed and hand painted, much like a fresco.

The piece appears to be from the 1940's or 50's and would have been used in a carnival or amusement park setting. We only know of two others in existence and they're no longer showing up "for sale" when we search on line. One was listed for $2,800 and the other for $2,500. We have contacted carnival and amusement collectors and no one has been able to provide us with any further information about him

I have one of these trash cans. Have'nt been able to find anything that proves what time frame it is from or where they came from. Just people's opinions online. A guy in Europe had one up for auction and said they knew of 5 in existence (not including mine). Have you had any luck finding any factual historical data on these trash cans?
