Description

This salt glazed crock/jug is in very good condition for its age.  There is one very small chip, and some glazing drips.  There are no markings and it stands approximately 10 inches tall and approximately 6 inches wide.  It looks to hold about a gallon of fluid.

I can't imagine the value being more than $25-$35 dollars, but more importantly I would love to know what it would have been used for.  Molasses, preserving, I just don't know, but I am looking to become more familiar with pottery.  Would also love an idea if my estimated value is accurate.  Thank you very much.
