Description

This is a vintage William sprawling silver and turquoise checker and earnings. There are two stamps on the back of the clasp. The fist being an eagle with the number 13 which was assigned to sprawling in the 1940's? The next is the far fan circular stamp . It is is really good condition. I am looking for more information and value.

Did some research and found some tidbits:

  • The designer's name was William Spratling, born in 1900 in Sonyea, New York and died in 1967 in an automobile accident in Taxco.
  • The Eagle 13 mark is from the 1949-1952 years. It was used only for the "Spratling/Conquistador" designs.

This information came from the http://www.spratlingsilver.com/ site, and there was much more info available there, although I did not find any sort of pricing.

Hope it helps, gives you a place to start!

BTW - the pieces are absolutely beautiful!
