I have had this solid compass since i was a child and my grand father had it before me. It is made by W OTTWAY Co LTD EALING LONDON and I beleive it to be solid brass with a black powder coating, The compass still points int he right direction and is filled with some sort of liquid. It is in fairly good condition and has a dial that turns on the top with a screw button to stop it. It is rather heavy and I beleive it to be a field compass from world war? I have scoured the internet in search of items like this and can not find one of these so i presume it was not mass marketed at the time. it is a very very well made intricate compass that far surpasses most compasses of today!
