It's a "Skull cracker" cane, these were used for self defense as well as for walking. The brass ones don't sell for much, usually under $100.00 at auction.

I also have the same cane without the bell ringer. Has anybody actually had theirs appraised? I am very curious about it's origin and value.

I have the same cane w/o the bell and am also interested in the history and value.
Re: walking cane oval brass knob, solid wood shaft, maybe oak
One was given to me in Pickering Ontario 1975- 76 It had a tag which read that is was made of Hickory with a steel shaft attached at the tip. It mentions that the Brass was heat set into the wood. I got fairly good at tossing it to it's mark. The manufacturer shure knew his canes. Let me know if you find out who made it and where. And no, lol. I'm not selling mine. Thanks
