Description

My Great Grandmother passed away a couple years back, and her house was abandoned (She lives in Mississippi, off of the beaten path.) Many members of her family have gone through and removed any valuables or items of personal value. My Grandfather found this in her house and recalled he and his brother used it when they were small children. My mother then gave it to me for my boys to use. I do not want to sell this item, but I was curious, considering its age and condition what the value of such an item might be. Your time is greatly appreciated.

I have attached five photos. (1) The front, (2) Right Side (3) The Back, (4) Left Side, and (5) The Bottom.

Japanese items made from 1921 to about 1940 are marked " Made In japan", prior to 1921 they were marked " Nippon". Directly after World War Two until 1952 Japanese items were required to be marked " Occupied Japan". So this could be a prewar piece or post 1952. value, not much really, under $100.00.

Lovejoy

Interesting. Thank you for that bit of information. It is most definately prewar. My Great Grandmother had some pieces from Japan that are marked "Occupied Japan" that my mother now has, and she said that this particular piece was purchased right after my Granfather was born, which was 1934.
