These are 20th Century Italian Capodimonte figurines, most of the post date the end of World War Two (1945). Figurines like this were produced in large numbers for the export market, values for them are still modest in the current market, they often go on ebay for less than $125.00.

there are so many on there and at such a wide range of costs.....how would one decipher between the more expensive pieces? Is it the sticker on these that shows approximate value?

It's more about the vintage and style, the earlier Art Deco style examples from before the War generally go for more.
