AFTER DOING A LITTLE BIT OF MY OWN RESEARCH, I THINK THIS PLATE IS ONE OF THE FIRST SERIES OF PLATES MADE FOR MACYS DEPT STORE IN 1939 FOR THE WORLDS FAIR. COMMEMORATING THE INAUGURATION OF GEORGE WASHINGTON AT FEDERAL HALL NEW YORK APRIL 30, 1789. ONLY IT SAYS GEORGE "WAFINGTON". IT HAS ALL THE OTHER MARKINGS SUCH AS WEDGWOOD AND ANOTHER WORD I CAN'T QUITE MAKE OUT IMPRINTED IN THE PLATE. ALSO UNDERNEATH THE BOTTOM OF WEDGWOOD ETRURIA, ENGLAND IT HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE #35 SLIGHTLY IMPRINTED IN BLUE

I'd really need to see an image of the plate and its marking. Wedgwood made historical plates for a number of customers under contract, in many cases the company that contracted the plates would have their own marking on the plate as well. The "Wedgwood Etruria England" mark was used by Wedgwood on such plates until 1940. Compared to their peak of value in the late 1980's to early 1990's, demand for plates of this type has diminished in recent years. In the current market these Wedgwood plates retail in the $50.00- $120.00 range depending on the subject depic
