W.German Clock

Description

So I found this clock at a consignment shop and really liked it, as I thought it went good with our bedroom decor at the time. Never really inspected it until just recently.  It is a battery operated clock that has 4 spining balls on the base. From what i have searched, this is considered an "Aniversary" Clock. I have not been able to find a maker of the clock. All that is inscripted on the bottom and the back is W.Germany. On the front bottom of the clock face it is also inscripted made in germany. No Manufacturer or maker and no other markings that would indicate who made this beautiful clock. It is constructed of mostly plastic except for the clock face and the two legs, which I believe is made out of metal or possibly brass. I would love to know more about this clock and how much it may be worth. Thank you for your time.

Re: W.German Clock

A lot of anniversary-clock copies are produced by different company in Germany, the are based on existing brands like loricron, kudo and hermle. These clocks are not inferior the just don’t have the brand name backing them. I have never found the maker of my clock. However a time frame for the creation of the clock from the marking “W. Germany” would place the clocks creation to 1949-1990. In the 1990s the use of anything indicating made in West Germany stop being used. The West Germany was to show that the item did not come from East Germany.

I see these clocks around from $10 - $30
