It's silverplate, anything American made of Sterling silver would have the word "Sterling" or its numerical equivilent "925" stamped on it ( Sterling is 92.5% pure silver) This piece most likely dates from the firsr quarter of the 20th century, the Wilcox firm became part of International Silver company that formed about 1898. Values depend a good deal on the condition of the silver plate, you'll have to giive it a good polish and see how it comes up, even so, most comparable types in good condtion often sell for less than $75.00.
