My history:The bed was purchased in Germany by my grandparent’s pre 1993. In 1993 they wanted to ship the bed back to America when they moved. To do so they needed an appraisal for shipping insurance. At that time the bed was appraised for 20,000 euro (1993). After the bed arrived in America it was sent to a smith for restoration. I acquired the bed this year and I am in search of an appraisal for fair market value. I know the Winfields limited company was est. in 1829 and closed in 1900. What exact year the bed was manufactured I do not know. I know that the bed is solid brass and not plated. The bed is in great condition. All brass is untarnished and UN weathered. The bed was kept in a spare bedroom since 1993 always indoors and always kept clean.
