Possible apothecary box with metal detailing. There is a bottom drawer (locked and no key). There also is a spring-loaded wooden latch of some sort. Any information at all would be great.
It looks more like a "Tantalus', these were used to hold bottles of Booze ( Brandy, Sherry etc....) Ones like this are generally mid 19th Century. This one is a nice find, they often sell for over $here is a link for you:
