Wrought Iron table base and 2 matching chairs

Ha! Found it! Can you tell us where you got it? Not the store, but rather the area of the world/country! What is it's size? Does it hold a magnet or deflect a compass needle? (then it is iron and not a brass type metal - makes a difference!) Look for 'weld' marks where pieces come together to get an idea of craftsmanship. Especially look in areas that are difficult to see, such as the bottom welds (a mirror helps!) and for marks. Craftmen would make sure ALL parts are properly done, less quality work might 'overlook' hidden areas. My first impression is that this is an Art Deco era piece possibly from the Chicago area. I suspect it is of a low production run - possibly 'one of' - so look very carefully all over for marks. Especially on the chair, some manufacturers hide their name/company under the cushion. More photos would be nice, particularly of a joint sample and the underside of the chair to see how the cushion construction is. Hope this helps!

One of a kind type items in iron are a real bear to value. Unless you have a provenance to some well known designer it's worth what someone will pay you. I would suggest searching the auction records here: http://www.liveauctioneers.com using a search for "wrought iron table" and see if you can find a match or something close to it's style. Lovejoy
