Description 2008-10-08 This is the commisioning pennant for the U.S.S. Fleming,a destroyer named for Richard E. Fleming who lost his life in the battle of Midway and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. This is not a copy and is a one and only.My father was a High School history teacher for fifty years and accumulated a great deal of military, political, and baseball(CUBS) memorabilia.Like most of his treasures, we have no idea where he obtained it but suspect he paid a fair amount for it.My mother does want to sell this item once we have an idea of a fair value.
