Description
2 Bomb Shell Casings designed into a lamp bases - emboss lettering with the name 1918 Argonne and the other 1918 Verdun, (these appear to be cities in France.) Also embossed is a flower design. Indentation at the bottom indicates that these bomb shell were fired. Also, engraved markings on the bottom "75DE C" and "A0182l 18C" on one and the other "75DE C" and "ATE186l 18C". Bottom quarter of casing has been heated up and crimped.

These used to be called "Trench Art", the idea these were made by Soldiers during their spare time at the front ;~) Most likely they were was made by enterprising French and Belgian citizens.
Unless they are signed by as Soldier and have a solid provenance
there's no way to tell.
Such pieces were made up to twenty years after the war, the huge piles of debris, shell casings and equipment were slowly recycled and sold to tourists and pilgrims. Values vary, at auction the lamps sell for under $150.00.
