In 1946, after the war, Jack Mitts decided to establish his own antique business in Berkeley, California, leaving his family's antique business behind in St. Louis. Jack, along with his wife Shirley, purchased property on the corner of Adeline and Ashby and hung up a sign proclaiming "Jack's Antiques" was open for business. Over the many years since, "Jack's" has become a destination for collectors seeking quality American Decorative and Fine Arts.

Still in the same location today, Shirley and her daughter Nancy carry on that fine tradition. Jacks's is the "go to" place for both buying and selling estates and single items. Jack's specializes in the buying and selling of quality furnishings, fine art, porcelain, silver but carries an eclectic assortment of many items like French armoires, Chinese furnishings, and English antiques. You never know what you will find at Jack's! We have had fun and interesting items such as model wooden sailing ships, painted wooden fish from Mexico, wood carved Italian and Chinese mirrors, rattan furniture from the Victorian Era, early Grandfather clocks, California paintings, and early wrought iron implements. Visit our store and explore the collection!
