Description
I've had this item for a while and after looking under the pitcher one day I noticed that it had a date and a few symbols printed on it. It was date "1741" with the line "Silvercraft" and a few symbols. Above the "1741" it had the letters E.P. NIS OR E.P. NKS , I'm not sure because the middle letter is a bit scratched. I think this pitcher is made of silver but it is either badly tarnished or the silver was scraped off over time. The base of the pitcher is 4.5 inches but the pitcher has a large "mouth" which is around 5.5 inches.
Re: Silver Pitcher
E.P.N.S. (Electroplated Nickel Silver) Meaning it is silver Plated over what looks like copper. Very common to plate silver over copper long ago.
