Southwest/Native pottery?

By florida10000, 17 January, 2013
Description

I have this nice piece of pottery with hatching along the edges. The symbols on the front at first I thought they were swallows but now I'm not sure. There is what appears to be an impressed mark on back. Does anyone know when its from or what type of piece it is?

Thank you to everyone

Re: Southwest/Native pottery?

Not sure of the maker but this stlye is very prominent from the Penland school in NC.  Probably soda fired.  Reminds me of Will Ruggles and Douglass Rankin.
