Library Desk

By debjohnson21, 19 June, 2013
Description

I have a double pedestal table, a dark wood, I believe stained walnut.  It is 42" wide by 26" deep, has one smooth front faced lap drawer.  There are no markings as to manufacturer, no dovetailing, it seems to be put together with wing nuts.  I don't believe it to be veneered, the only reason why is because there is a chip in the front by the drawer and there is no 'lifting' anywhere.

Thank you.

Re: Library Desk

Your desk is in the Empire Revival style, which was popular during the early years of the 20th Century. This one is actually quarter sawn oak rather than walnut. In good shape we retail examples like this for about $450.00.
