Description
I have a chair that I acquired. It is a formal chair with tapered legs. The seat is made up of wooden slats and the chair cack is straight with a fan in dowels. Above the fan is a carving looks like swags. The joints are hard to see someone painted it many years ago and the person who had it before me started to strip it.
Re: Chair
Chairs like this date from the turn of the 19th Century through to World War One. They were mass produced items, often sold through mail order catalogs such as Montgomery- Ward and Sears. Values for them "as found" tend to be very modest @ about $25.00.
