I have a Underwriters Laboratories Wrought Iron Chandelier with 5 arms, very gothic looking. I found a few numbers on it - Issue no. C-493,748 and E-11679. Just looking to find out history on it and to get an appraisal.

Looking for info on this Chandelier, it is a fixture that is in the home we purchased. It's unique and wondering history and appraisal info, thank you.

I believe underwriters is a safety company that puts their label on an item after it has passed inspection... I too thought it was a brand name. But if you go to their site there is an area where you type in the UL number and it may give you your items history. Hope that helps
