By bmantaray, 5 May, 2007
Description

Genuine antique 'Ko Do' (Old Bronze), 'Maria Kannon' (http://www.aisf.or.jp/~jaanus/deta/m/mariakannon.htm) statue in mint (but aged) condition from Edo period around mid-late 18th century. This statue is the great and rare example of the real Worship image of 'Kakure Kirishitan' (Hidden Christians : http://www.answers.com/topic/kakure-kirishitan) at the time. Moreover, this Maria kannon is made by bronze ,and it is an extremely rare because the most are made by porcelain as usual.
