Long Description
Jefferson Woodworking Company antique library table of solid oak with beveled corners and decorative detail on open base.Ā The 12" table leaf unfolds from inside the table on a working roller bearing mechanism.Ā Restored by an antique craftsman, in excellent condition.Ā A beautiful piece!Ā Ā
History
Bought at an auction in southern Virginia several years ago; had it refinished and restored to working order. There is writing on the track inside the table mechanism that says "Jefferson Woodworking Company, Louisville, Kentucky." I do not know anything about the history other than that. It's a beautiful, unique piece and I hate to part with it but I must. I would like to know what a fair price would be if I were to sell it.

Re: Jefferson Woodworking Company Library Table
Tables of this type generally date from the first quarter of the 20th Century, but remained in and out of production following the dictates of fashion for the next 50 years. The style is what's referred to as the 'Colonial Revival style'. The style getting its name because such pieces used stylist motifs found on American Colonial furniture originally made 1620-1780. The company that made this one operated until about 1966. Value about - $450.00
