Description
I'm told this is a William and Mary style table..it is a 6 leg configuration with 35" x 14" drop leaves. The middle leaf folds out from underneath the center of the table. With the center leaf up and both side leaves up, it measures 35" x 60" x 30". The finish is in very good condition having been refinished 15 years ago. I estimate it to be about 75 years old as my mother got it from her mother-in-law over 50 years ago. I need to sell it as I am downsizing and have no room for it and am interested in what the value is.

I, too have this table, although the middle leaf has been lost over the years. It was painted brown when it was handed down to me and I completely stripped it (the turnings were a nightmare) and refinished it!
So, any news about value? Obviously mine would not be as valuable as an old one with original finish.

Tables of this type are in what's called the "Colonial Revival" style. Colonial Revival pieces are reproductions of the original American Colonial items originally produced from 1620-1780.The Colonial Revival style became popular after the first Centennial of the American Revolution
in 1876. At that time interest and demand for original Colonial & Federal furnishings was so great it outstripped supply. This caused large manufacturers to begin production of pieces in the Colonial style from the Jacobean to early Georgian periods.
The style reached it's peak of popularity during the late 1920's,but were made right through to WW2. Most gate legs like these date from the 1930's. Today values for these pieces depends on their quality of construction, how close they follow original designs and their overall condition. Most sell at auction for under $250.00.
