There are two chairs I'm requesting appraisal for.Ā Note the differences between these chairs.
History
This was gifted to me by my grandfather who told me the chairs were Victorian in origin. No other details known.

Re: Wooden Victorian(?) Chairs
The larger chair looks similar to high splat back windsors from Yorkshire England,mid to late 19th century. TheĀ splatĀ has the "fir tree" fretted slat seen in many Yorkshire high splat back chairs. These types of chairs are selling for $450.00 and up depending on condition, regional details, age, and wood species.
The other chair looks American below the seat. Above the seat I am not familiar with splats in the backs of American sack-back windsor chairs. Some windsor chairs from the English North East Midlands share some turnery that looks american.
