The other day I bought this interesting glass bowl, but I don't know anything about it. I hope someone can help answer my questions:
- Is the splotch on the bottom (circled in the photo) from glass blowing? Or something else?
- Could the bowl be crystal? (It does have a nice long 'ring' when I tap on it.)
- Is it properly called 'art glass'? Or something else?
- Would it be used to hold fruit/candy? Or something else?
- How is the color to be described -- rose/cranberry/ruby/amethyst?
- Is the shape 'footed'/'pedestal/"comporte'? Or something else?
- What time frame is it from -- '50s?
- Where is it probably from?
- Are the flowers hand painted?
- Is it 22k gold painted on the rim, etc.?
- Is the bowl noteworthy in any way?
- Is it possibly missing a lid?
- What would be its estimated re-sale value?
