Biltons Ironstone Tableware 38 piece set

By Aphrodesia, 25 May, 2011
Description

For the age of the set, it's in mint condition. There are no scratches, chips, scuffs or any other marks whatsoever. I've tried to do some online research, but I've been unable to find an identical set. Even through scouting on a website that sells replacement dishes for this company I was unable to find anything with same design.

Sorry for the quality of the images but I can't seem to find the cord for my camera and got stuck using my cell phone. I hope it adequately gets the quality of the pieces across.

Category
Ceramics and Porcelains
Medium
I'm not sure exactly what it's made out of. Doesn't say on stamp at bottom but looks/feels like it would be either porcelain or ceramic.
Distinguishing marks
The stamp at the bottom of each dish reads "Biltons Ironstone Tableware Underglaze, Detergent Proof. Staffordshire, England"

Mint
Size and dimensions of this item
7 dinner plates (9.6"), 7 side plates (6.5"), 6 saucers (5.4"), 6 bowls (6.6" x 2.5" depth), 1 large serving bowl (8.8" x 3.5" depth), 10 tea cups (3" x 2.8" depth), 1 milk serving mug with spout (3.7" x 3.6" depth)
Date Period
I'm not 100% sure of the date period these dishes were made. They look like they could be from the "retro" period (60s-70s) but could be earlier.

History
I've had this set for about 3 years now, but before then I know nothing about it. I've never used any of the pieces and to my knowledge my grandparents didn't either.
