this is a glass advertising poster from 1927 for a song Red Lips Kiss my Blues Away by three artists... it is featured by Al Shayne and the Pelham Heath Entertainers... that is why I have traced it to 1927...
it is just a hair over 16 x and a hair over 20 inches..
barbelle shows the artist that drew it... which I traced to the artist that Albert Wilfred Barbelle which also illustrated the first mickey mouse book ever... and then worked for Disney… so you are not really going to find too much art with the name on it Barbelle because disney owned his art works…
it shows the artists names that wrote the song... they are... Alfred Bryan, James V. Monaco, & Pete Wendling
there is a small crack that measures... about 2 inches long in the top corner... granted this is from 1927... lucky it even is still together... in existent...
it shows the mark that states "made in the usa" which makes sense because barbelle was first from europe...
Henry Waterson Inc was bought by warner brothers in 1929
"FEATURE BY AL. SHAYNE AND HIS PELHAM HEATH ENTERTAINERS" the reason i dated it to this date... is the poster says Featured by Al Shayne... who was the director of the Pelham Heath Entertainers in 1927 and then was replaced by someone else in 1928... as far as I can tell by the research I have done online.... I had a very hard time finding this out... it took me almost 2 months of searching... and I actually wish I would of bookmarked it... I found it in some archive of music some place... I don't remember where anymore... sorry...
this is all the information I have found out....
